[News] - My school might be using a cell phone jammer?
So this is a brand new school and no one can get any signal inside the school, Even at the windows. But when you go outside the doors you get full 5 bars! This school is in canada and is it possible they used a jammer and also is it illegal?
No. Cell phone jammers are illegal under the Radiocommunication Act of Canada. Only certain police and military agencies can obtain permission to transmit over those frequencies.
It is possible that the school's construction is such that cell phone reception is weak or even blocked. Buildings with metal rooves, lots of metal re-enforced concrete, or lost of metal trusses on the rooves often make cell phone reception difficult. Same when you go into certain parkades.
